On Darkness: shifting perceptions

Gallery Talk with Margo Geddes
5–7 PM | Gallery Talk at 5:30-6:00 PM

Music by The Dawn Patrol

Join us for First Friday featuring a gallery talk with MAM Registrar Margo Geddes, who will share the inspiration behind On Darkness: Shifting Perceptions, an exhibition she organized from the MAM Collection.

The exhibition considers darkness not simply as the absence of light, but as a distinct perceptual space—one that changes how we see, imagine, and understand the world.

Drawing from the MAM Collection, the works in On Darkness: Shifting Perceptions explore darkness as both a visual experience and an imaginative space. Through light, shadow, shifting depth, scale, and form, the artists invite viewers to question, reflect, and consider their own relationship to darkness.
