Joe Feddersen: Earth, Water, Sky

Joe Feddersen: Earth, Water, Sky is a career retrospective of nationally renowned artist Joe Feddersen (b. 1953, Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation). The exhibition gathers four decades of the prolific artist’s prints, glass, weaving, and ceramics, featuring more than 120 works ranging from intimate miniatures to wall-sized installations. With poignancy and humor, Feddersen transforms the familiar into a world of juxtapositions that challenge how we see, use, and treat the natural world. Through his work, he conveys his belief in the power of the landscape and our interconnected relationship with it.

Organized by the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture. Curated by heather ahtone, director of curatorial affairs, First Americans Museum, Oklahoma City, and Rachel Allen, curator of modern and contemporary art, Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, Spokane, Washington.

MAM will celebrate the exhibition with a reception from 5-7pm on Friday, September 4, and an artist talk by Feddersen at 5:30 PM, followed by a curatorial talk with heather ahtone on Saturday, September 5, at 10:30AM.
