Summer Teen Art Project 2026

The Missoula Art Museum invites high school students to apply for our Summer TAP Arts and Leadership Program—a unique opportunity to create art, build leadership skills, and engage with the community.

This summer, teens will collaborate with Resident Artist Kelly Bouma in a dynamic, community-based storytelling project, along with mentorship and artistic coordination led by Janaína Vieira-Marques.

Guided by a central question, “Do you know our neighbors?”, participants will explore identity, connection, and belonging through photography, poetry, sound, and video—working together to create a powerful public artwork. Teens will amplify their voices within the Missoula community, sharing perspectives that reflect their experiences while building meaningful connections across the city.

This is a leadership-focused program that emphasizes creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and the role of art in building stronger, more connected communities.
