Marjorie Taylor, Thinking of Lewis, 1970, watercolor.MAM's exhibition program is a broad landscape that serves and represents diverse audiences and creative interests.

Each year, 20 to 25 solo and group exhibitions rotate through six state-of-the-art galleries. MAM organizes and rents exhibits, develops programs through community partnerships, and welcomes the opportunity to review exhibition proposals.

MAM does not accept commissions on the sale of artwork but in support of artists, will put collectors in touch with artists or artists' representatives.Brad Allen, Spiderhouse, 2010, cast iron.

A Week in the Life of a Hutterite Child
Cheryl Bannes, a Lewistown artist, directed this project in which students from six Central Montana Hutterite communities were given cameras to document their experiences in these isolated agricultural communities. The photos were taken over a period of three months with students producing over 1000 photos. From these photos, a committee of teachers, artists and community members selected 36 images which were enlarged and framed for the exhibition.

Christopher McElroy: Archetypal Subversion
Working primarily with the mediums of glass, electronics and video, and secondarily with metals, wax and fire, McElroy has created video documentation of performances that reflect his broader concerns. His work confronts the issues surrounding human control over nature and the intimate installation includes video documentation as well as some samples of his imaginative glass machinery. The actions of these machines tell a far greater story than the machines themselves.

Katy Stone: A Season Swirling (Unfurling)
Katy Stone's installation utilizes all the surfaces in the Aresty Gallery and breaks out into the center of the gallery at key moments. Incorporating her signature aesthetic language of sensitive shadow and light, the work will all be made of Duralar, an archival acetate similar to "mylar" and include a dramatic variety of scale, and complexity.

Encaustic Invitational
The Encaustic Invitational showcases six artists from the region who have chosen encaustic as their primary medium. Curated by MAM Curator of Education Renee Taaffe, all of the artists invited are well established and have been exhibiting their work for many years. Some of these artists have worked with encaustic for decades, whereas others are relative newcomers to the process; all are still exploring the possibilities of this ancient medium.

Joe Feddersen: Vital Signs
Vital Signs, the pulses and patterns of the body, are indicators of essential life functions. The powerful work of Joe Feddersen reveals, like vital signs themselves, the state of the human condition from the vantage point of a contemporary artist who has inherited an ancient aesthetic tradition. Arising from Plateau Indian iconographic interpretations of the human-environment relationship, Feddersen's prints, weavings, and glass sculptures explore the relationships between contemporary urban place markers and indigenous design.
