the ancient Japanese resist dye technique of Shibori. Create distinctive, spontaneous patterns on
cotton through stitching, pleating, pinching, twisting, and wrapping. Students will learn a brief history of
Shibori practices and patterns, engage in basic techniques, and gain an
understanding of working successfully and safely with fiber reactive dyes. At class end, students will have a collection
of intricately patterned fabrics to stand alone or incorporate into larger
textile projects.This class is for high school students and adults.
CLASS PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICY: All classes require pre-registration. Registration is only confirmed with full payment or a non-refundable $20 deposit. Registration fee (minus $20 deposit) is refundable only if cancellation is made one week prior to the start of class.
