Each year, volunteers contribute thousands of hours of time, energy, and expertise to help MAM succeed in its role as a place of learning and cultural enrichment, and as an invaluable resource to the community.
We ask those interested in volunteering at MAM to make a six-month commitment, and to attend all volunteer trainings and meetings, in order to enhance your familiarity with MAM's exhibitions, history, and programming.

Employing the Visual Thinking Strategies approach - developed by MoMA's Philip Yenawine - Art Guides reach our audiences by helping them learn to look at, appreciate, and respond to contemporary art. If you're passionate about art and enjoy sharing the museum experience, the Art Guide Program is perfect for you! Please click here to download an application. Our Teen Art Guide Program is open to young people ages 14-18. Teen Art Guides (TAGs) are trained to lead tours and discussions of our exhibitions, help run Teen Open Studio Nights, act as an advisory committee for the future of teen programming at MAM, and are liaisons between the museum and area high schools.
