The Missoula Art Museum is a nonprofit organization that relies on a variety of funding sources for its activities. This support enables MAM to share its collection, exhibitions and programs with thousands of visitors, helping the widest possible audience understand and enjoy contemporary art.

MAM's First Annivesary Fund Circle of Support:

Over the past year, the new MAM served 35,500 people of all ages and maintained free admission. Thank you, dear members and donors, for making this a possibility.

Now, as we look to our promising future, we invite you to deepen your investment by making a contribution to MAM's First Anniversary Fund Circle of Support

With nearly twice the exhibiting space and corresponding educational programs, MAM prides itself on setting ambitious but realistic goals as we enter this vitalizing post-campaign phase. Together, the members of the First Anniversary Fund Circle of Support will nourish and grow MAM's exhibition and educational programs! Our goal is to raise $100,000 to support this important charge and I am pleased to announce we have already secured $20,000 from MAM's dedicated Board of Trustees.

Your contribution to the First Anniversary Fund will fuel MAM's ability to achieve the following goals in 2008:

  • MAM will present 30 exhibitions that challenge and stretch viewers perspectives. From the diverse perspectives of regional giant Joe Fedderson to exploring Montana roots with David Shaner to the international Persian Visions exhibit, MAM celebrates our local spirit and explores our interconnectedness with the world. Each exhibit costs $5000-$10000 to present.
  • MAM will serve new and underrepresented constituencies in our community through reaching out and providing free and low-cost classes for families and children. We plan to serve 40,000 people next year and will offer 30 scholarships for art classes. Each class costs $300-$500 to produce.
  • MAM will offer access to our entire, 1085-piece Permanent Collection online, free of charge. We plan to archivally mat and frame all 2-D works and further develop our new storage facility to ensure safekeeping of the community's art collection. Each piece of collection art costs $50-$80 annually to care for.

A gift to the First Anniversary Fund provides vital program support to MAM over and above membership dues and is fully tax-deductible.

Contact Nici Holt or Laura Millin for additional information.

Gifts of $500 and above will be acknowledged on MAM's First Anniversary Fund Donor Wall.

PLANNED GIVING

Your Gift Builds the Future: As a member of Legacy Montana, MAM encourages planned giving. In 2000, MAM established a special group called the Joyce Folsom Society to honor and support planned gifts to the permanent art collection. If you have questions about making a planned gift of any type, please contact Director Laura Millin.
