Hiding in Plain Sight: Photographing the Hutterites of Liberty County by Jill Brody
Hutterite colonies are a photographic Eden. Their colorful anachronistic clothing, the muted earthly tones of the prairie, and the immense skies become visually rich metaphors for the contrast of their centuries-old communal lives of faith with the increasingly vast, inescapable, individuating technological forces of the 21st Century forces that are tugging us all, ready or not, into the future.

Recent Acquisitions Exhibition
The Missoula Art Museum's collecting mission is to collect, preserve, exhibit and research art that is relevant to the culture of the American West with an emphasis on contemporary Montana artists. Jared Shear: Cougar Peak-A-Boo

Louise Lamontagne: My Closet Collection

A Museum/School Collaborative grant to promote Indian Education for All, sponsored by Montana OPI and the Montana Historical Society, was awarded to MAM this past fall.
