More than 30 whimsical mixed-media sculptures by this former University of Montana professor form a series of new sculptures. Little says, "I always have to engage the material in the process. When you change the materials or processes, that context allows it to be seen differently by the viewer." Materials such as clay, paper, found leather and bronze forming hollow animals, hollow body parts, masks and empty clothing hearken back to the vessel tradition.
The exhibition is organized by the Southwest School of Art & Craft, and presented at the Art Museum of Missoula in part with generous support from the LEAW Family Foundation. Little's lecture at The University of Montana is generously sponsored by the Jim and Jane Dew Visiting Artist Fund. Two works borrowed from the Rudy & Lela Autio Collection.
