December First Friday
Times: 5-8 PM

Explore the new body of ceramic sculptures created by Missoula artist Shalene Valenzuela.

Join us at 7 PM for a gallery talk with the artist in which Valenzuela will talk about the rich content of her ceramics which cover topics ranging from fairytales, urban mythologies, consumer culture, societal expectations, etiquette, and coming-of-age issues.

Stylistically, Valenzuela’s imagery is found in ‘dated’ sources that represent an idealized time in society, but beneath the shiny veneer of these relics hides a complex and sometimes contradicting truth.
