This informal tour and artist talk will be held at MAM and is presented in conjunction with the national traveling exhibition Jaune Quick-to-See Smith: In the Footsteps of My Ancestors, organized by the Yellowstone Art Museum and the first solo exhibit of the artist’s work in Montana since 1998. Quick-to-See Smith’s powerful commitment to social, environmental, and political issues-and her creative voice-have established her as a dominant figure in contemporary American art. An informal gallery talk will take place at 6:30 PM.
Enjoy a no-host bar and complimentary light refreshments. The event is free and open to the public.
With Voices in Contemporary Art, MAM connects audiences to cultural literature and significant voices in contemporary art. Internationally recognized artists, critics, and scholars present the latest art world practices and conversations, from contemporary artistic practice and aesthetic philosophy, to art criticism and art history.
