Dig into an art discussion over a casual breakfast with exhibiting artist Chris Pappan. Pappan grew up in Flagstaff, Arizona, and studied first at the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA), then the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He explores his cultural background, which he describes as Kaw, Osage, Cheyenne River Sioux, and mixed European, through distorted photorealistic portraiture on accounting paper, reminiscent of historical ledger drawings.
